"Botanica" by Bruce Slorach

Bruce's latest works in progress – "Botanica" – feature his fluid, illustrative style which has travelled full circle through pencil to paper, screen printing to prints and textile design.

Poised for completion early 2019, Bruce's body of work comprise mixed media in various scales including large format hero pieces, collectable wood block prints, pencil drawings, colour illustrations and paintings.

Each piece reflects Bruce's immersive relationship with Australia's indigenous landscape. His long-standing subject of choice was borne of a childhood spent roaming the wild hills of Western Victoria and is complemented by a life-long interest in popular culture and the arts. The symbiosis between each is realised through his lyrical, illustrative and highly recognisable approach.

This body of work represents an emergence from hiatus from exhibiting, due to commitments to his multi-disciplinary design business Deuce Design and establishing Utopia Goods, a handcrafted textile business established with partner Sophie Tatlow.

These established businesses bring to the table an influential network of close knit contacts, a creative database built up over 10 years within the government, design, arts, interiors and architectural industries.
